On October 18, the delegation of the EU technical assessment mission, along with the commander of the second army corps of the RA Armed Forces, colonel Vahram Grigoryan, and the head of the Vardenis community, Aharon Khachatryan, was accompanied to the border zones of the Tretuk and Kutakan settlements of the Vardenis community, which were affected by the Azerbaijani aggression of 2022. Gegharkunik Governor Karen Sargsyan informed about this on his Facebook page.

"I have presented information about the 12 affected settlements in Chambarak and Vardenis enlarged communities as a result of the enemy's aggression, of which Sotk and Kut settlements suffered a lot of damage.

48 buildings were damaged in Sotk, 12 apartments in Kut, and 2 apartments in Verin Shorzha. We have two damaged schools, one kindergarten, administrative buildings of settlements, a library, and a medical center. We have 8 apartments damaged by shelling, which need to be completely rebuilt. Civil infrastructures were also damaged, and the implementation of agricultural works became risky by about 40 percent.

Vahram Grigoryan, the commander of the second army corps of the RA Armed Forces, presented a report to the members of the EU delegation on May 12, 2021, and September 13, 2022, on the consequences of the aggression against the Republic of Armenia by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.

Observations were carried out using measuring devices. The members of the delegation of the EU Technical Assessment Mission assured that they will conduct in-depth studies and submit regular reports.

"I assure you that constant support and active cooperation will be provided to the observation activities of the EU mission delegation," the governor wrote.
