On January 19, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Wopke Hoekstra, the press service of the RA MFA reports.
According to the report, a number of regional security issues were touched upon during the telephone conversation.
"Ararat Mirzoyan presented to his colleague the humanitarian situation created in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of the blocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan, the challenges threatening the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of RA also referred to the incident related to the children returning to Nagorno-Karabakh, and the unacceptable behavior shown by Azerbaijan towards them.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the address statement of the Dutch government regarding the full restoration of free movement through the Lachine corridor.
Mirzoyan also emphasized the importance of active steps by the international community in order to prevent attempts by Azerbaijan to subject Nagorno Karabakh to ethnic cleansing.
Referring to the process of normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, the RA Foreign Minister noted that the Armenian side has forwarded the proposals regarding the peace treaty to Azerbaijan and is now waiting for a response," the MFA said in a statement.
