RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan's phone conversation with Iceland's Foreign Minister Þórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörð Gylfadóttir

On January 27, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iceland Þórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörð Gylfadóttir.

Minister Mirzoyan congratulated his colleague on assuming the chairmanship of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.

During the telephone conversation, reference was made to the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh due to the blocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan. Ararat Mirzoyan highly appreciated the clear position expressed by Iceland's Foreign Minister, as the chairman of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Ministers, regarding the blocking of the Lachin Corridor.

Taking into account the day-by-day worsening situation, the Armenian side emphasized the international fact-finding mission to Nagorno-Karabakh and Lachin Corridor in order to assess the humanitarian situation on the ground.

The parties also discussed issues related to the deepening and expansion of Armenia-Iceland bilateral cooperation.
