On November 24, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Iran discussed regional security issues of mutual interest.

Minister Mirzoyan presented in detail to his colleague the situation that has developed as a result of the recent aggression by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia. He added that Azerbaijan’s aggression against Armenia is a serious threat to efforts to establish security and stability in the region.

Ararat Mirzoyan highly appreciated Iran’s position on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Armenia’s borders. 

The Foreign Ministers of the two countries also touched upon a number of issues of multilateral cooperation between Armenia and Iran, expressing readiness to make efforts to further deepen relations.
