Voting for the snap parliamentary elections in Armenia started today at 08:00. The chairman of the Central Electoral Commission Tigran Mukuchyan informed about this, presenting the election process.
"There are 2.593.572 voters on the voter lists," he said.
Mukuchyan reminded that 21 parties and 4 alliances of parties are running in the snap elections, where 2.510 candidates are included.
Thus, he mentioned that 2008 polling stations are planned, 12 of which are in criminal institutions and will open later. The remaining 1.996 polling stations are already open.
Tigran Mukuchyan noted that out of 1.664 citizens, 119 members of the commission did not show up, as there is no polling station where the chairman of the commission is not represented.
The snap parliamentary elections in Armenia election will be monitored by 8 international and foreign observer organizations and 833 international observers.
