After voting and leaving the poll station, the PM candidate of the "Bright Armenia" party Edmon Marukyan shared his thoughts on the electoral process. He said his party's voting for solidarity and to restore peace in the country for tomorrow.
"We have said that tomorrow is the time to restore internal political solidarity and reconciliation in the country. Of course, it could have been done earlier, but the elections are a chance for us to take that step in this situation. I have high hopes that solidarity and the restoration of peace will not have an alternative for us, because our challenges are much bigger than we imagine. In this sense, we simply have no alternative. We must put aside our small truths for the sake of a greater truth, for the sake of a greater value, which is the state, our statehood," Marukyan mentioned.
Summing up the pre-election campaign, Marukyan said that it was full of hate speech.
"Our children were listening to words on TV that I would not want anyone to hear or see. In that sense, both the propaganda of hatred and the propaganda of violence was quite high. Today's expectations will not be justified either. The whole day will pass very calmly. As for tomorrow, we already have notifications that the parties must hold demonstrations. I think that in the polling stations, in the ballot boxes, our citizens will vote in such a way that it will not be possible. In other words, there will be no force that can say that it has won alone. We will come to our idea that we should all sit at the same table and form a government of national accord. Only in this case will we be able to find a way out of this situation. ”
