The US Embassy in Azerbaijan explained why the ambassador didn′t visit Shushi, which is now under the control of Baku.
The Azerbaijani government organized a tour for foreign ambassadors to Varanda (Fizuli) and Shushi. But the ambassadors of the United States, France and Russia ignored the invitation of the Azerbaijani government. The position of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairing countries has caused a public outcry in Azerbaijan.

– Why did you reject the invitation of the government to visit Shushi?
– We don′t comment on details of the ambassador′s schedule or the reasons why he can′t attend certain events. We would like to note that on Friday there were representatives of a number of diplomatic missions in Baku who were unable to visit Fizuli and Shushi.
– Why did the ambassadors of the United States, Russia and France, the three Minsk Group co-chairing countries, take the same position and reject the invitation to visit Shushi on July 9?
