Gagik Tsarukyan thinks Artsakh should get international recognition

In an interview with Public Television of Armenia, the leader of the "Prosperous Armenia" party Gagik Tsarukyan announced that there is a need to restore relations with Russia and sign a new military-political alliance.

Referring to the opinions that instead of Russia it is necessary to cooperate with France and the United States, Tsarukyan said that the USA is coming as a partner of Turkey, a NATO member.

"How can we take such a step today? We should do everything so that Russia does not leave. Russia should stay, the ties should become stronger, and we will not allow Turkey or its Turkish partners, NATO members to come. Do you have any idea of what our status might be? We could be landlords in our property, and any patriotic person should be against this. This is my point of view, that is the main decision of the" Prosperous Armenia" party," Tsarukyan said.

Tsarukyan also referred to the Artsakh issue.

"In order to correctly determine the fate of Artsakh, we must work for it to have international recognition. Only in case of international recognition, we can definitely demand our lands, which belonged to Artsakh, and which today the Azerbaijanis have taken."

To the question of why some representatives of the "Prosperous Armenia" party, such as Vahe Enfiajyan, Naira Zohrabyan are not included in the pre-election list, Tsarukyan answered, "It's not that a person has been in the parliament, it means that he or she was born in the parliament and must die in the parliament. We say that young people are our future, so should we give opportunities to young people or not? Today, the majority of the entire list are young party members, intelligent and well-prepared," he said, adding that a change in the political generation has taken place.
