Snap parliamentary elections 2021: election campaign day 12. Updates

16:50 - Once again the Armenian people, not learning lessons from their history, are fighting each other, propaganda of hatred and violence has reached its peak. On June 20 there is an opportunity to learn from our history and end the country's division, hatred, propaganda of violence and this irreconcilable environment. Dear compatriots, on June 20 go to the polling places, take the 9th ballot and show that you are supporting solidarity, unity and the restoration of peace in our country. [Edmon Marukyan, PM candidate of the "Bright Armenia" party]

16:25 - The day after tomorrow let's throw the loser out of us and choose the future victories. Let's reject the lies and live respecting each other. Let's remove the incessant madness from our lives and calmly understand how will we get out of these ruins. [Artur Vanetsyan]

15:17 - Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced that Russia wishes Armenia successful parliamentary elections. He described the journalists' question about which political force is Moscow supporting in this election as strange. "We certainly wish our close ally and partner successful elections," Peskov said.

15:02 - I think it is very logical that these elections mainly focused on the issues of whether Armenia has gone its way correctly since independence or not. That′s why the main competitors in this election were the forces that represented the Armenian authorities at different times. And it can already be said that these forces will have a significant presence in the parliament. This is not an election campaign for us, but a special operation to save the country. [Levon Zurabyan, MP candidate of the Armenian National Congress]

14:45 - June 20 is a fateful day. We choose between a decent peace and a humiliated shame. We choose between a prosperous life and hopeless poverty. I'm sure that you will not be deceived again. [The message of Robert Kocharyan]

14:05 - The electoral campaign was interesting, but there was a lot of polarization, which I think is wrong. That's because the whole media is in the hands of those people who have created a second pole, that's why it was difficult for everyone to open the barrier. There are a number of difficulties, but we have already overcome them, leaving the decision to the people, they will decide. [Samvel Babayan, the leader of the Liberal party]

12:37 - As a result of the elections to be held on Sunday we expect to be the third force in the parliament again, in my opinion the developments are going that way. [Edmon Marukyan]

12:31 - First of all we are ready to cooperate with any force, and work for the sake of our homeland. Secondly, it depends on who those forces are and what program they are guided by. We offer to change, clarify and simplify the Constitution. Our problem comes from the legislative base. Each political leader has written the Constitution for themselves. [Samvel Babayan, the leader of the Liberal party]

12:30 - We are satisfied with our activity and the response of the people during the campaign. Of course we were in unequal conditions and it couldn′t be otherwise, because we live in a system that discriminates, and based on the political order it covers and comments differently. [Vahe Gasparyan, PM candidate of the National-Democratic Pole party]

12:07 - For the correct determination of the fate of Artsakh, we must work for the international recognition of Artsakh. In the case of international recognition we can unequivocally demand our lands, that belonged to Artsakh, and are taken by the Azerbaijanis today. [Gagik Tsarukyan]

11:52 - People want to force unity, they say that it's enough, the country has bigger challenges than the internal problems of political forces. The country has a thousand problems, so we must unite, solve those problems, this is what people want, and that is what we are doing. [Edmon Marukyan]

10:13 - On June 15, at 2:55 pm, an employee of the Goris Cultural Center reported to Goris Police Department that at around 12:00 pm, the director of the center has banned her from participating in Nikol Pashinyan's election campaign, threatening her to fire, the Information and Public Relations Department of the RA Police informs.

10:05 - The team of the "Free Homeland" alliance visited Gyumri on June 17. During the campaign the issues raised by the residents of Gyumri were discussed. Andrias Ghukasyan, the PM candidate of the "Free Homeland" alliance, condemned the fact that Pashinyan and Kocharyan avoid public debate. ["Free Homeland" alliance]
