The situation tends to be tense, but I don't think there will be a large-scale war. Seyran Ohanyan

"The presence of the Russian peacekeeping forces and our cooperation with Russia will not allow that," the former Defense minister said.

According to the former Defense minister, the head of the "Armenia" (Hayastan) faction Seyran Ohanyan, the situation tends to be tense.

In an interview with "Azatutyun", Seyran Ohanyan stressed that he doesn′t think that there will be a large-scale war.

"Azatutyun" - Mr. Ohanyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recently said that he is ready to start negotiations with Azerbaijan at the highest level. What does the "Hayastan" faction think? What do you think about this?

Seyran Ohanyan - I think that before starting negotiations at the highest level, we need to restore our security system and increase the degree of internal cohesion, since there are no peaceful conditions for starting high-level negotiations with Azerbaijan. Firstly, Azerbaijan needs to be forced, and our partners the CSTO, Russia should also direct their forces in this direction, so that they withdraw their forces outside of the Republic of Armenia, and secondly, if we say that incapable management led to defeat, nevertheless, in the international arena we need to represent that the criminal in this war is the leadership of Azerbaijan.
