The opposition "Armenia" (Hayastan) faction of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia presents the demand for the resignation of the President of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan as a political assessment. Artsvik Minasyan referred to this during a briefing in the National Assembly. 

Answering the question whether they discussed this with the head of the alliance, the second president Robert Kocharian, Minasyan said: "Any important issue becomes the subject of discussion in the alliance".

Artsvik Minasyan, referring to the demand for the resignation of Alen Simonyan, said that the opposition believes that the President of National Assembly makes statements in the international arena that lead to a risk for foreign policy.

Minasyan also pointed to the statement of the NA President about POWs. Artsvik Minasyan noted that the NA President creates tension at the NA meetings, doesn’t attach importance to the order in the Parliament and the fundamental values of democracy.
