Alen Simonyan, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Armenia.

Congratulating the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador on the assumption of the mission, Alen Simonyan noted that the development of cooperation with the countries of the East Asian region, including Korea, has an important place in the foreign policy agenda of our country.

The role of friendship groups has been highlighted in the parliamentary format in the relations between the two countries.

A conversation was held on the further development and strengthening of bilateral relations between Armenia and Korea, with both sides expressing a desire to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in a number of fields.

In this context, the opening of the Korean embassy in Armenia was highlighted, which will provide an opportunity to ensure great progress in Armenian-Korean relations.

Speaking about the Azerbaijani aggression against the territorial integrity of Armenia and the blockade of Artsakh Armenians, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia assessed the balanced position of Korea on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
