Grigory Kerasin claims due to the efforts of Russia, ceasefire was reached on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan

A ceasefire has been reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Grigory Karasin, head of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian Federal Council, told RIA "Novosti" about this.

According to him, the ceasefire on the border of Armenia and Azerbaijan has been achieved due to Russia's efforts, including after the conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the work of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

According to Karasin, there is still a lot of work to be done regarding the situation on the border of the two countries, as Yerevan has appealed to the CSTO.

It should be reminded that on the night of September 12-13, from 00:05, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces started to fire intensively at the Armenian positions from artillery and large-caliber rifles in the direction of Goris, Sotk, and Jermuk.

According to the RA Ministry of Defense, the enemy is using artillery, mortars, ATS, and large-caliber rifle weapons in the directions of Vardenis, Sotk, Artanish, Ishkhanasar, Goris, and Kapan, targeting both military and civil infrastructures.

RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, while presenting the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in the National Assembly, said that, according to preliminary information, the Armenian side has 49 victims, but this number is not final. The final one will be announced after clarification by the Ministry of Defense.
