RA human rights defender Kristine Grigoryan had a private conversation with Federico Villegas, president of the UN Human Rights Council, permanent representative of Argentina at the UN.
 
The Ombudsman presented the interlocutor with the activities of the Office of the Ombudsman as a national institution for the protection of human rights.
 
The Defender also thanked Ambassador Villegas for his participation in the Global Forum to Combat the Crime of Genocide, for his important messages and in general for his important work in the UN Human Rights Council.

Kristine Grigoryan used the opportunity to present to the President of the Human Rights Council the humanitarian consequences and risks of the closure of the only road connecting Artsakh to Armenia by the Azerbaijanis and emphasized that international organizations should not ignore such genocidal policy impulses.
 
The parties exchanged ideas about the possibilities of sensitizing such issues within the framework of various mechanisms of the UN.
