The opposition MP does not consider it logical for Armenia to send humanitarian aid to Turkey |armenpress.am|

Tigran Abrahamyan, the secretary of the "I have honor" faction of the RA National Assembly, believes that Turkey's behavior and the adopted policy towards Armenia and Artsakh and Armenia's actions after the earthquake in Turkey are not consistent. The deputy expressed such a position in the parliamentary briefing.

"Especially after the 44-day war, under the logic of the Azerbaijani attacks that followed, such an attitude towards Turkey naturally does not fit into the logic. I would have understood the authorities of Armenia at that moment to convey condolences in some dry text. However, the authorities of Armenia at the highest level even wish support to Turkey, they transfer a humanitarian burden," said Abrahamyan.

He noted that almost the same number of rescuers are involved in friendly Syria and Turkey. According to him, this is obviously not consistent with Turkey's behavior and policy towards Armenia.

The deputy also does not think that Armenia's humanitarian burden or support would be important for the correct positioning in Armenian-Turkish relations.

It should be reminded that in Turkey, not far from the Syrian border, there was an earthquake of 7.8 magnitude on the night of February 6. The number of victims in Syria and Turkey has exceeded 34 thousand. On February 7, Armenia sent rescue teams to Syria and Turkey, and on February 11, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia reported that Armenia sent humanitarian aid to Turkey.

"The humanitarian aid trucks crossed the Margara border bridge and moved to the region affected by the earthquake," he wrote.
