"France is a member of NATO. The alliance defined Russia as an opponent in all documents. Paris may have resisted, but could not do anything and expressed solidarity with it. The supply of weapons against the backdrop of statements about the inadmissibility of Russia's victory leaves no other logical conclusion, except for one thing: they want us to lose," wrote Maria Zakharova in her Telegram channel.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that his country has never advocated and will not promote Russia's defeat. According to Macron, some would like to "destroy Russia first" and "attack the territory of the Russian Federation".
