Baku does not fulfill the request of the International Court of Justice: Armenian MP sends a letter to international structures

Taguhi Tovmasyan, the chairman of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Human Rights Protection and Public Affairs, has sent an urgent letter to all international partners, alerting them that Azerbaijan is not fulfilling the request of the International Court of Justice.

Tovmasyan informed about the situation and asked to contribute within the framework of their mandate:

  • implementation of the decision to apply an interim measure made by the International Court of Justice of the United Nations,
  • present the steps taken or to be taken by them in this direction.

It should be reminded that according to the decision of the International Court of Justice of February 22, Azerbaijan is obliged to take the measures agreed upon by it to ensure the uninterrupted movement of people and goods in both directions through the Lachin Corridor.

The International Court of Justice rejected Azerbaijan's request to apply temporary measures against Armenia. Azerbaijan demanded to apply intermediate measures and to oblige Armenia to "end the laying of mines and the transportation of mines through the Lachin Corridor".
