The Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a message ahead of the upcoming visit of Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to Moscow and his talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.
"On March 20, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Minister Sergey Lavrov will hold talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, who will make a working visit to Moscow. The upcoming meeting is the continuation of traditional close contact between Moscow and Yerevan at all levels.
The ministers plan to comprehensively discuss the current state of Russian-Armenian cooperation and further steps in its development, including within the framework of the implementation of the provisions of the joint statement of the leaders of Russia and Armenia on April 19, 2022, which established the privileged alliance and strategic direction of bilateral interaction.
The heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs will discuss in detail the regional agenda at the highest level between Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan on November 9, 2020, January 11, 2021, and November 26, 2022, in the prism of fulfilling the agreements of October 31.
Prospects for strengthening cooperation in general integration associations - CIS, EAEU, and CSTO - will be considered, as well as the coordination of actions in various international universal platforms, first of all, in the United Nations.
"The Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia: 30 years of allied cooperation" presentation of the three-volume collection of Russian-Armenian treaties and agreements will be made.
Armenia is one of Russia's closest allies, a strategic partner in the South Caucasus. Based on the strong traditions of friendship with historical roots, the unchanging sympathy and closeness of our peoples, Moscow and Yerevan have built multilateral reliable relations.
We continue to improve the contract-legal framework, which includes more than 200 documents. We are systematically working on their inventory," the message of the Russian Foreign Ministry reads.
