There is a difficult but honorable struggle ahead. We will celebrate the Independence Day. Message of Serzh Sargsyan

Serzh Sargsyan, the Third President of Armenia, sent a message on the occasion of Independence Day.

"The generation that created independence, which laid the foundation for the Third Republic of Armenia thirty years ago, and of which I have the honor to be a representative, was well aware of its responsibility to the fate of the Armenian people and the generations to come.

This generation is a generation bearing national values, possessing a powerful spirit, which has done everything for the formation and protection of a sovereign, free, independent Armenian state.

Some of the representatives of the independence generation died in the name of the Homeland, made a great contribution to the state's well-being, and the part that survived and sacredly carries this idea is now being persecuted by the current anti-national authorities.

The indifferent and irresponsible to the fate of the Armenian people current regime and their associates have squandered in a short time the achievements that were created over the past decades through difficulties and struggles.

They have put the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh, created as a result of the hard struggle of the Armenian people, under a serious risk.

The sovereignty and security of the State of the Republic of Armenia are undermined, and the existence of the state is put at risk, thousands of young lives are sacrificed as a result of the incompetent management of the 44-day war and dubious "mutual understanding" and agreements with the enemy.

Thousands of young people who didn't spare their lives for the Hotherland are also considered the generation of independence.

There is a difficult but honorable struggle ahead in the name of national dignity, in the name of a safe, free, sovereign and dignified life on our own land.

We will celebrate the Independence Day," the message reads.
