Vigen Nazaryan won over Iranian Ali Choubani in the final of the Youth National Championship. Seconds before the end of the match, when the score was 1:1 in favor of the Armenian wrestler, the Iranian performed a trick, earning 1 point. The decision was challenged by the senior coach of the Armenian Greco-Roman wrestling team, Armen Babalaryan, after which the point was canceled and the victory was awarded to the representative of Armenia.
Suren Aghajanyan, who won the title of vice-champion of the World Youth Championship, suffered a painful defeat in the final against Iranian Said Esmaeili Laivesi (6:6). 30 seconds before the end of the match, Aghajanyan was winning with a score of 6:2, but the Iranian wrestler performed a 4-point trick and equalized the score, and was declared the winner.
The Armenian team also included Henrik Gevorgyan (77 kg), Ruben Gevorgyan (82 kg), and Harutyun Kirakosyan (97 kg), who were excluded from the medal fight.
