In reference to cases of Siberian ulcer found in animals in Venevan-Torfavan communities of the Gegharkunik region, on June 29, the "Reference Laboratory Center" of the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the RA Ministry of Health carried out a sampling of 7 residents. Three of them were diagnosed with Siberian ulcer.
Two of the positive cases are from the owners of the infected animals and the other is their relative. The condition of the two patients was assessed as moderate, and the other one - mild.
It should be noted that 4 samples of soil taken from pastures of Vanevan settlement were examined, in which no pathogens of anthrax (Siberian ulcer) were found.
