RA NA President signs protocol on considering powers of the president of the Republic Armen Sarkissian terminated

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia signed a protocol on the termination of the powers of President Armen Sarkissian.

Taking as a basis the resignation letter of the President of the Republic and being led by the demands of Article 142 of the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia and Article 147.1 and 2.2 of the Constitutional Law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, to consider the powers of Armen Sarkissian as the President of the Republic, terminated.  

According to Article 6.4 of the Constitutional Law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, from the moment of publishing the protocol on considering the powers of the President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian terminated until assuming the position by the newly elected President of the Republic, the Vice President of the National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan will exercise the powers of the President of the National Assembly.
