The CSTO Secretary General and the Chairman of the Organization's Collective Security Council, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan have had a telephone conversation

On January 6, 2022, the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas had a telephone conversation with the Chairman of the Collective Security Council, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

Stanislav Zas informed about the situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan and progress in implementing the decision of the Collective Security Council to send the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces to that country to normalize the situation in the country. The peacekeeping contingents are currently being deployed by military transport aircrafts of the Russian Aerospace Force.

 

The main tasks of the CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces are to protect important state and military facilities, assist the law enforcement forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan in stabilizing the situation and returning it to the legal field.
