On June 27, 2021, the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia summed up the results of the snap parliamentary elections and made a decision on forming a National Assembly, and distributing the mandates. The "Fair Armenia" party issued a statement on the topic, stating that it expresses its gratitude to those who voted for the party, as well as to all the citizens who were guided exclusively by the interests of the state in the polling stations, with a sense of deep civic responsibility, and behavior based on law. "The "Fair Armenia" party considers itself the speaker of the citizens who voted for it and will act on their behalf, as it will act for the sake of every citizen of Armenia, the security of the Armenian people, and the country. We are deeply convinced that both the newly elected Parliament and the government to be formed in the near future face the task of carrying out a responsible mission with the determination to make a breakthrough in all spheres of public life," the statement reads.
Doctors in white coats held a protest in front of the Special Investigation Service in defense of the director of "Izmirlian" Medical Center, doctor Armen Charchyan, included in the list of the "Armenia" alliance, against whom the court made a decision on arresting. The doctors came up with an open letter again, and this time the addressee was the head of the SIS Sasun Khachatryan. Armen Charchyan is currently in hospital, and on June 27 his condition worsened. Earlier, 539 doctors sent an open letter to the authorities and the public to lift the detention of Armen Charchyan. It should be reminded that Charchyan is accused of forcing people to participate in the snap parliamentary elections.
The vice-president of the Armenian National Congress Levon Zurabyan informed that the party is not going to apply to the Constitutional Court. According to Zurabyan, it does not make sense to apply to the Constitutional Court, because, one way or another, the issue of legalization of the election results will become a subject of discussion, and will be examined. When asked what expectations they have from the Constitutional Court, Zurabyan noted that there is no need to have any expectations.
It should be reminded that the results of the June 20, 2021 snap parliamentary elections are being questioned by a number of political forces. During the summing up of the election results, it became known that three political forces - the "Zartonq" National-Christian Party, the "Armenia" alliance, and the "I Have the Honor" alliance submitted applications to the CEC to declare the results of the snap parliamentary elections invalid but were rejected.
The Central Electoral Commission of Armenia calculated how many mandates each of the three political forces ("Civil Contract" party, "Armenia" and "I Have the Honor" alliances) will receive in the newly formed parliament. According to the final count, the "Civil Contract" party will have 71 deputies in the National Assembly of the 8th convocation, the "Armenia" alliance - 29, the "I Have the Honor" alliance – 7.
Yesterday the chairman of the Central Electoral Commission Tigran Mukuchyan summarized the final results of the June 20 special parliamentary elections. Mukuchyan said that four applications were submitted to invalidate the results of the CEC elections, one of which was submitted by the "Armenia" alliance. After reading the justifications of the application, the representative of the central headquarters of the alliance Aram Vardevanyan mentioned that he wanted to draw special attention to several points of the application. One of those points was that the servicemen voted with military booklets. The CEC chairman reversed Aram Vardevanyan, saying that the servicemen have always voted with military booklets. "The Electoral Code defines three types of identity documents for citizens: passport, identification card, and biometric passport. The servicemen have always voted with military booklets, because none of the three mentioned documents, which are not directly available to them, they cannot use it. It is an identity document for this category of people, there is no problem here," Mukuchyan said.
During the "Sunday Analytical" program of "Azatutyun" radio station Arayik Harutyunyan, Advisor to the Acting Prime Minister of Armenia referred to the mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan not publicly supporting the "Civil Contract" party during the pre-election period. "I am very sorry that Hayk Marutyan had such an attitude before the elections, and s a city mayor candidate previously nominated by the "Civil Contract" and "My Step", did not express public support in the pre-election period. The vote by which Marutyan became the mayor of Yerevan is mostly the force that has already formed a government for the second time. At the moment, we do not have any discussion related to the mayor," he said.
At a briefing with reporters, the official representative of the central headquarters of the "Armenia" alliance Aram Vardevanyan referred to the alliance's application to the Central Electoral Commission after the snap parliamentary elections, which demands to invalidate the results of the snap parliamentary elections. According to him, there were systematic violations during the elections, and that they are going to submit an application to the Constitutional Court as soon as possible, according to the law, within 5 days after summarizing today's results.
During the special sitting of the RA Central Electoral Commission, the official representative of the central headquarters of the "Armenia" alliance Aram Vardevanyan stated that they were dealing with a situation when a person holding the highest position in terms of constitutional regulations resigns from that position but continues to stay in office, including during the snap parliamentary elections. The other circumstance, which, according to Vardevanyan, is very important, is that the pre-election campaign, which lasted for a very short period of time, contained direct propaganda of hate speech by a high-ranking official for several days in a row. He also emphasized that they had tried to get information on which polling stations the servicemen were going to vote in, but that information was kept secret. Vardevanyan noted that they are studying the published electoral lists, and that certain issues have been registered in that sense, which will be summarized, and that the alliance will apply to the Constitutional Court.
The RA Central Electoral Commission received four applications on invalidating the results of the snap parliamentary elections, the CEC Chairman Tigran Mukuchyan stated this while presenting the summary data of the elections. According to Mukuchyan, the applications were submitted by the "Zartonq" National Christian Party, as well as the "Armenia" and the "I Have the Honor" alliances.
