Azerbaijan put on wanted list Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan

Baku has put on the wanted list the Second and Third Presidents of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan, the Head of the Special Investigations Department of the Military Prosecutor’s Office Emil Tagiyev informs.

According to Tagiyev they are accused of organizing rallies of Armenian workers in Nagorno-Karabakh since February 1988 with the aim of inciting national enmity, hatred between the Azerbaijani and Armenian peoples, proclaiming the "Nagorno-Karabakh Republic" on September 2, 1991." 

 

Co-Chairs of Euronest Parliamentary Assembly met with Armenian PM and FM

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the delegation led by Andrius Kubilius, Member of the European Parliament and Vice-President of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on regional and international security and stability issues. Prime Minister Pashinyan presented Armenia's positions on the regional developments, the unblocking of communication routes, the demarcation and delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the dialogue between Armenia and Turkey.

On February 21, the Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan received the Co-Chairs of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly Andrius Kubilius and Maka Botchorishvili. The head of the delegation of the National Assembly of Armenia to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly Maria Karapetyan also attended the meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reports.

Touching upon the urgent humanitarian issues, Minister Mirzoyan stressed the need for repatriation of the Armenian prisoners of war and civilian hostages illegally held in Azerbaijan. The Foreign Minister stressed the inadmissibility of Azerbaijan's continuous violation of the norms of international law and the decision of the UN International Court of Justice on provisional measures.

The need for a full resumption of negotiation for a comprehensive and lasting settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict under the mandate of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship was also stressed.

During the meeting, the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Turkey was also touched upon.

 

Secretary of the Security Council received the Ambassadors of Sweden and Finland 

On February 21, the Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden Patrick Svensson, the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia reports.

At the request of the Ambassador, the Secretary of the Security Council presented Armenia's position on the long-term political settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the Armenian-Turkish relations. In this context, both sides stressed the importance of a long-term political settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs framework. The Secretary of the Security Council also presented the efforts made by the Government of the Republic of Armenia in the direction of structural and substantive reforms of the Armed Forces.

On February 21, the Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to Armenia Kirsti Narinen, the Security Council of the Republic of Armenia reports.

At the request of the Ambassador, the Secretary of the Security Council presented Armenia's position on the demarcation and delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, unblocking of regional transport infrastructure, and the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In this context, A. Grigorian stressed that the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing is the only framework for resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Ambassador Kristi Narinen praised the implementation of democratic reforms in Armenia and expressed her country's readiness for further continuous cooperation with Armenia.
