RA human rights defender Kristine Grigoryan received the young delegates of the OSCE PA on November 14

RA Human Rights Defender presented the institution's mandate to the young delegates of the OSCE PA, referred to the public councils attached to the Human Rights Defender, and presented the goals and functions of the formation of the councils.

In his speech, Grigoryan referred to the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and directions of work, and highlighted the work of regional units.

Then she answered the questions of the OSCE PA young delegates regarding the consequences of the Azerbaijani aggression of September 13-14, human rights challenges in Armenia, freedom of speech and assembly, and women's rights.

Defender Grigoryan presented the published extraordinary reports, referring to the facts presented in them, talking about the cases of prisoners of war, war crimes, torture, and inhuman and degrading treatment.

Kristine Grigoryan informed that the reports published by the HRD were submitted to international structures and actors.

On November 10-14, The Insurance Foundation for Servicemen provided compensation to 55 new beneficiaries

On November 10-14, the Insurance Foundation for Servicemen (IFS) provided new compensations to 55 servicemen who have fallen, identified as missing, or become disabled (51 of them as a result of the Azerbaijani attack on September 13). In general, as a result of the events of September 13, the IFS provided compensation in 144 cases.

Thus, as of November 14, the total number of beneficiaries is 5.012. The fund has made a compensation of 68.2 billion AMD for those cases.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the Russian Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Igor Khovaev, the special representative of the Russian Foreign Minister for supporting the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, RA PM's office reports.

Nikol Pashinyan noted that, as he has already publicly announced, Armenia supports the proposals presented by the Russian side in August of this year, which can be the basis for further negotiations on the settlement of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The interlocutors discussed the results of the tripartite meeting of the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan held in Sochi on October 31, the process of the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and issues related to the Nagorno Karabakh problem.

Later today, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan also received the Russian Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Igor Khovaev, the special representative of the Russian Foreign Minister for supporting the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the latest developments related to the settlement of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue were discussed.

The interlocutors referred to the last tripartite meeting of the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan held in Sochi on October 31 and the joint statement adopted.

In this context, Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the importance of the commitment of the parties to refrain from the use of force or the threat of force, noting that Azerbaijan continues to hinder the establishment of stable and long-term peace in the region with its aggressive behavior and fanatical aspirations.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Igor Khovaev also exchanged thoughts on the border demarcation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the unblocking of transport infrastructures in the region.

OSCE PA youth delegation is in Armenia

The President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan hosted the delegates of the OSCE PA youth network. RA NA deputy Sargis Khandanyan took part in the meeting.

Greeting the guests, President Vahagn Khachaturyan noted that he values ​​the involvement of young people in the process of establishing parliamentary diplomacy.

During the meeting, the president presented episodes regarding the origin and content of the Karabakh conflict to the young delegates of the Parliamentary Assembly and addressed the current possibilities for solving the problem.

In his speech, President Khachaturyan referred to the first years of the declaration of independence of the Republic of Armenia and noted that it was during that period that Armenia decided to move on the path of democracy and the establishment of democratic institutions and is currently following the same path, certainly overcoming many difficulties and obstacles.

Referring to the regional realities, the president stressed that Armenia's position in achieving a stable and lasting peace in the South Caucasus is unequivocal and has no alternative.

The President of the Republic also referred to the perspective of the settlement of Armenian-Turkish relations.

 "Armenia's position regarding the normalization of relations with Turkey is very clear. We are inclined to open the borders without any preconditions and then to establish diplomatic relations. There was such an opportunity about 13 years ago, but due to circumstances, it did not work. This time, we hope that we will be able to achieve a result."  - said the president.

At the meeting, the young delegates of the Parliamentary Assembly thanked for the hospitality and noted that they were impressed by their visit to Armenia and will try to strengthen relations in the near future.

Secretary of the RA Security Council Armen Grigoryan also received the members of the group of young delegates of the OSCE PA in the office of the Security Council.

At the request of the members of the group, the Security Council Secretary presented the regional security situation around Armenia, some details from the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiation process, and emphasized the approaches and views of Armenia.

The parties emphasized the location of both the OSCE needs assessment mission and the EU civilian mission in Armenia and referred to their activities.

In this context, the Security Council Secretary emphasized the potential of such cooperation formats to contribute to the strengthening of the security environment in the region.
